EXCLUSIVE LICENCE

In 2018, Thomas, who owns the copyrights on the design, granted a global and exclusive licence to clothing company WAM Clothing, allowing it to use the image of the flag. But WAM is now wagging this licence in the face of all kinds of small businesses run by Aboriginals to prevent them from using the flag on their products.

REVOKING COPYRIGHTS

Today, several lobbyist groups under the collective name Free The Flag are pressuring the Australian government to revoke Thomas’ copyrights and thus free the image of the flag for common use.
