July 2018. Chinese retailer Hechan Trading has been refused EU trademark protection for its H&C logo. In a case brought by clothing firm H&M, the Opposition Division of European Trademark Office EUIPO ruled at the end of May that as a leading fashion concern, H&M was a well known brand throughout Europe. The H&C trademark, which also sought registration for clothing, was considered far too similar.
