Meta trademark has a narrow escape

Mark Zuckerberg can breathe a sigh of relief for now. In August this year, the European Union Intellectual Property Office, EUIPO, rejected the opposition filed by German company Thinkmeta Software GmbH against the registration of the Meta word and figurative marks.
