What is the SIB Subsidy?

The SIB Subsidy offers Dutch SMEs the opportunity to have 50% of the costs for international trademark or design registration, trademark research, or advice reimbursed, up to a maximum of €2,500. For registration in multiple countries, this can increase to €6,500. To qualify, your company must:

  • Be based in the Netherlands.
  • Have no more than 250 employees.
  • Have an annual turnover of no more than €50 million or a balance sheet total under €43 million.
  • Be a legal entity registered with the Chamber of Commerce (KvK).

Sole proprietorships, general partnerships (VOFs), and partnerships are excluded from this subsidy.

What is the SME Fund?

The European Commission’s SME Fund provides a voucher of up to €1,000 for trademark or design registration, covering 75% of registration costs in Europe. This scheme is available to SMEs, including independent entrepreneurs, with:

  • A maximum of 250 employees.
  • An annual turnover of no more than €50 million or a balance sheet total under €43 million.

Foundations and associations are excluded. This subsidy applies specifically to registration costs and does not cover trademark research or advice.
