November 2018. The racing organisation Formula 1 is in a fix. Its new logo, designed in 2017 by renowned advertising agency Wieden + Kennedy, is under attack from the US company 3M, of yellow Post-It notes fame.
3M uses a logo to market its Futuro compression stockings which is visually very similar to the new F1 logo. 3M has therefore filed an opposition to the European trademark registration of the new Formula 1 logo, and stands a good chance of winning, at least where clothing is concerned.
